Joe Biden has wasted no time in office making political and social conservatives angry. From targeting those conservatives in the military to promoting the teaching of racist Critical Race Theory in schools, this Democrat administration and their cronies in Congress have made it obvious that the American people are last on the list of people and things that those leftists care about.
Now, Biden’s new budget proposal is set to enrage millions of Americans who are values voters, meaning that their moral values inform how they vote and what they want the government to do. But when you have no morals, like the leftists in Washington, D.C., it’s all about avoiding responsibility and bringing in the campaign donations, isn’t it?
Tom Ozimek gives us the frustrating details:
President Joe Biden’s $6 trillion budget proposal for 2022 notably excludes the Hyde Amendment, a law that has for decades blocked federal funding for abortions under Medicaid, unless the unwanted pregnancy endangers the mother’s life or was the result of incest or rape.
Before the Hyde Amendment took effect in 1980, an estimated 300,000 abortions were performed each year using taxpayer funds. Since the amendment is a “rider” to the annual appropriations bill and not permanent law, it must be renewed by Congress each year, giving lawmakers the opportunity to modify its language or do away with it entirely.
Republicans have unsuccessfully sought to make the ban permanent, while Democrats have tried to scrap the prohibition. Biden’s decision to exclude the amendment from his budget proposal sets up a possible fight in Congress, with Republicans likely to argue for its inclusion.
“It breaks with decades of settled precedent by calling for direct taxpayer-funded abortion,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Friday, commenting on Biden’s move.
For millions of Americans who consider elective abortion to be murder, the removal of the Hyde Amendment would make government spending blood money.
Whether he likes it or not, for many Americans, this is such a heart-felt issue, that this could conceivably lead to the separation of America into two nations, one made up of states that value life and liberty and the other made up of states that are happy to oppress their people (born and unborn) for the personal benefit of their political leaders.
The only real question is how hard leftist states will fight to try to force conservative states to stay in the union to pay for leftist states’ financial incompetence.
