An essay written by academics Jennifer Chudy and Hakeem Jefferson published by the New York Times analyzes how support for BLM soared to +20% in mid-2020 but rapidly dropped to only +5% – which is where it was in mid-2019

One of the academic researches behind this study – Joel B. Pollak – points out that BLM is blaming their falling popularity on Donald Trump, and refuses to entertain the thought that violence, rioting, murder and looting might be contributing factors.
So far, there is no indication that BLM will be revising their tactics to a more peaceful approach.
