You know that you’ve really crossed a line when prominent members of your own political party start to come after you in public.
Now, some lines need to be crossed. Trump angered RINOs, but RINOs needed to be angered, and they need to be thrown out of the Republican Party because they don’t represent the Republican voter base.
But when a former member of the House of Representatives who was also a Democratic Presidential candidate calls you out for your racism, well, you know that you’ve done some pretty racist stuff (hat tip to here for the lead).
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot might realize that if she had any self-awareness (but I’m not holding my breath). Mary Margaret Olohan writes,
Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard accused Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot of “blatant anti-white racism” Friday for only granting one-on-one interviews to “black and brown” reporters.
“Mayor Lightfoot’s blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent,” Gabbard, a fellow Democrat, said. “I call upon President Biden, Kamala Harris, and other leaders of our county—of all races—to join me in calling for Mayor Lightfoot’s resignation.”
“Our leaders must condemn all racism, including anti-white,” Gabbard, who is Samoan, added.
Now, some people may argue that Gabbard isn’t representative of the Democratic Party in general, but that’s only true if you believe that the nutcases running the Democratic Party and White House actually make up the majority of people who vote Democrat. Maybe they do. Maybe they don’t.
If the leftist nutcases currently running the show don’t represent the majority of Democrats, though, that majority had better wake up and take their party back. It’s gone off the rails pretty badly at this point.
In the meantime, though, it’s fun to watch Democrats take shots at each other when one of them says stupid and awful stuff. That never gets old.
