Liberal Mayor Makes This RACIST Statement – Then This Happens
It must be nice to be able to get away with saying literally anything that you want without any fear of being crucified by the media and loudmouth leftists around you (which are, let’s face it, the people making the most noise about anything these days). You can say things that other people find incredibly offensive, even racist, without any fear of scrutiny whatsoever.
What? You think that this can’t happen in this day and age? If that’s what you think, then, Lucy, you have some explaining to do about Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Joseph A. Wulfsohn writes,
Reporters out of Chicago are alleging that Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot is now granting interviews only to journalists of color.
NBC 5 Chicago political reporter Mary Ann Ahern took to Twitter on Tuesday to mark the “midway point” of Lightfoot’s first term in office and apparently acknowledged her failed effort to land an interview.
“As @chicagosmayor reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews – only to Black or Brown journalists,” Ahern tweeted.
And apparently, Ahern wasn’t the only one.
“I was told the same thing,” WTTW Chicago Tonight anchor and correspondent Paris Schutz reacted to Ahern’s tweet.
“I can confirm,” Chicago politics reporter Heather Cherone similarly tweeted.
It is unclear when such a practice was enacted and if it only applies to local reporters, particularly after her MSNBC appearance with Stephanie Ruhle on Monday.
Lightfoot was slammed on social media, facing allegations of racism for choosing to speak with journalists solely on the color of their skin.
The Chicago mayor appeared to confirm the practice on Twitter.
So, let me get this straight. If I were a black lesbian woman (because, in this day and age, lesbian may not mean that you’re female, right?) who advocates leftist policies, this would be okay with the media. But if it’s a white guy who espoused “conservative” policies (or policies labeled conservative by the mainstream media), then he would be crucified.
Let me blunt: if you refuse to deal with people because of their ethnicity (black, white, Latino, Asian, whatever), then that is acting racist and should be condemned.
But if give someone a pass for being racist because of their race, then, guess what, you’re racist, too.
I’m glad to hear that folks on social media went after Lightfoot for this, but the media should have jumped on her case about this, too.
Shame on Lori Lightfoot, and shame on leftists for spouting this nonsense.
