BREAKING: Trump Calls For WAR

They better get ready for what’s to come…

President Trump promised U.S. support on Tuesday as he called on Mexico to “wage war” against the murderous drug trafficking “monsters” of the world in response to the killing of several Americans.

“If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these monsters, the United States stands ready, willing & able to get involved and do the job quickly and effectively,” Trump tweeted. “The great new President of Mexico has made this a big issue, but the cartels have become so large and powerful that you sometimes need an army to defeat an army!”

At least six children and three women living in a U.S. community in Mexico were shot down when their vehicle came under fire during a daytime ambush on Monday. Six children were found alive, five of whom were taken to a Phoenix, Arizona hospital. One child is missing at the moment and the authorities are searching for the child in the mountainous area on the Sonora-Chihuahua border.

According to The New York Times, those targeted were members of the LeBaron family, a well-known American clan that has been living in the area in the country’s northern part for decades. The assault was targeted at people living in a community that was founded as part of an offshoot of the Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ.

“This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth,” Trump tweeted. “We merely await a call from your great new president!”

Trump has raised repeated concerns about levels of gang violence and drug-related crime in Mexico, especially when it comes to securing the U.S.- Mexico border. Over the summer, both countries have stepped up cooperation on that front, with asylum seekers returning to Mexico to wait for hearings, while Mexico has also increased its troop presence on both its northern and southern borders.

Early reports suggested that the accident could have been a case of mistaken identity, but recent history also raises the possibility that the LeBaron family was the intended target: just ten years ago, according to the New York Times, two members of the family were kidnapped and murdered in opposition to local drug smuggling gangs.

Mexico’s Federal Security and Citizens’ Protection Department said security forces were bolstered in the region with National Guard, military, and state police troops following “the reports about disappearance and aggression against several people.” The troops were searching for the missing community members, believed to include 11 children or more.

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, whose father was born in Mexico’s Mormon settlement, extended his condolences to the victims and called on the U.S. to get involved.

“Our prayers are with their families who have suffered such an unspeakable tragedy. The U.S. must work with Mexican officials to hold accountable those responsible for this senseless violence,” he tweeted.
