It’s getting quite clear that Democrats are running out of steam in their quest to launch an endless stream of attacks against President Donald Trump.
With their hopes for the Mueller report a bust, progressives are now going back to the worn out tactic of chasing Trump’s tax returns. Which as the president points out, shows they’re already beaten.
When a reporter began to form a question starting with, “The chairman of the Democratic House Ways and Means Committee moments ago asked the IRS for six years of your tax returns,” Trump casually interjected, “Is that all?”
“That’s all,” the reporter confirmed.
“Oh,” Trump replied. “Usually it’s ten, so I guess they’re giving up.”
Democrats have been hounding Trump over his financial history since before he took office in 2016. The effort is starting to wear thin and it shows.
Despite this, they keep making attempts at collecting Trump’s returns and he keeps showing them the door.
“No, we’re under audit, despite what people said,” Trump stated, “and we’re working that out as I’m always under audit it seems.
“And I’ve been under audit for many years because the numbers are big and I guess when you have a name, you’re audited,” he said. “But until such time as I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do that, thank you.”
