Trump’s First Veto

In a vote of 59-41 the Senate has voted to reject President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration over border security. In doing so, they are forcing him to issue the first veto of his presidency.

This is yet another instance of Democrats fighting Trump every inch of the way on border security after failed negotiations for border funding led to a 35-day government shutdown, followed by more failed negotiations which led to Trump’s emergency declaration.

Trump has already tweeted his anticipation of the bill reaching him.
