Jim Acosta has finally got the internet talking about the effectiveness of a border wall. Even if it was inadvertently.
The CNN journalist make a short video of himself at the border wall in response to President Donald Trump’s speech on the border wall, which Acosta considered “hazardous to the truth.”
In the video Acosta notes how safe he feels along the area of the border describing it as “pretty tranquil.” And it was tranquil, right next to a fortified steel barrier stretching along the view.
Acosta even pointed it out saying:
“Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about, right here. As you can see, yes, you can see through these slats to the other side of the U.S.-Mexico border. But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger. There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence here in the McAllen, Texas, area. As a matter of fact, there are some other businesses behind me along this highway. There’s a gas station, Burger King, and so on, but no sign of the national emergency that the president has been talking about.”
People on the internet have been quick to point out to Acosta that, of course, it’s quit peaceful in the secure area where it would be difficult to illegally gain access to the country.
He may not have meant to, but Acosta’s little trip to the wall did Republicans more good than harm.
